Postgraduate Studies

Hi! Everyone today I going to talk about the postgraduate that likes me and think take in the future (after of study public administration).

In this period (after of my first 2 years of university) I enjoyed so much study the science of the administration with all process and currents of thought, for that reason I would like study other course or master associated with this area.

One of the MBM is “Management and Public Policies” .This master course is given in engineering faculty in the University of Chile. I like this master course because allow know political problems but of the all Latin America. Also this master has a global vision of the State (with all types of departments and organizations).

Other MBM is “Government and public management”. This master also is given in this university (Institute of public affairs). This master course is so interest interesting because forms professionals capable of identifying and taking advantage of public opportunities.

Also I hope to study English in a institute in the nights that permits me after study in other country.
Well, in my case I would like to study a master in Chile, because I feel that Chile has very good courses and master courses. But when I finished one or two master I would like to study in the abroad. I think in countries like Canada, Britain, United States or Sweden.

I would like study all the courses in format part-time because I would like work.

My experience with the blog

My experience using blogs in the English Class was very good. When we start with these blogs I thought that would hard and bored but was the opposite. I enjoyed writing in the blogs about the topics decided for us.

One of the thinks that likes me about these blogs is the opportunity of knowing better of our classmates: their pleasures, the thinks they like, and a little of their lives. The idea of commenting on the other post is very good because it improves communication among classmates, especially with those we do not know.

I think I have improved my writing in this language, and my vocabulary. I think that is better that writing in a notebook or board. The interaction with all is important and good for the learning.

In the future, the blog sessions could have much topics to choose: Food, favorite places, pets, and future. I would include to this class other forms of interaction with the classmate: Chat, interviews, and audiovisual resources.

I like so much the idea of to use the technology and the computer in the class of English. Is very different from the usual English classes at school. Ideas like this motivate much more.

My favorite book

Hi everyone!

In this occasion, I'm going to talking about my favorite book. The truth is that I have never thought about which is the best book I read, but now that I think about it I think it is “An Inquiry into the Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations” whose author is Adam Smith.

I read this book the last summer in the beach and I loved it. This book explains how the economy works in the world for centuries and what is the main problems with the poor countries. It analyzes money, banks, and poverty.

This book was very criticized by for considering this author the father of liberalism without understanding what this author really thought. I read it by content rather than by its economic ideal

I usually prefer to read books related to political science or management and not novels or short stories. However, the first book I read was not of this type of books, this was "El Chupacabra de Pirque"

I am not currently reading any book because I have not had much time to do it, but I hope in the holidays to be able to read some books.

My favorite subject

Hello World!

Today I am going to write about of my favorite subject this semester. This is “Political phenomena” with Professor Jaime Fierro. 

This course was dictated on Wednesday´s and Friday´s at 10:15 a.m. In these classes we argue about political problems  of Chile and the world. 

We learned that the currently problems as the situation of poverty, inequality, political participation, problems with the public administration, corruption of the government have many explanations.

 Also, we read many books of political science and sociology written by very good authors and importance Scientifics.

The mission of this course was explaining key concepts of political science, for to know political and social phenomena important for the decision-making in the organization of the government and the civil society.  This course answered questions as:

-What is the policy?

- What is the political power?

-What is the mission of the administrations, parliament, and law courts?

The evaluations were 3 tests (one in couple and one in group of three persons), a work in Assistantship course and one investigation.

This course liked me because was very interesting and useful for understand the following training courses of the career.

My favorite expert

Hi! Today I am going to write about one of my favorite authors of my career (Public administration).

This author is Max Weber, he is philosopher, economist, lawyer, and a very important sociologist of all the times. He was born in Germany on 21 April 1864 in Erfurt city.

Their ideas were globally recognized and a very important for the actually theories of administration and social research. These are registered in many books of economics and books of others important actors (for example in Karl Marx´s books).

The best book of this author is “The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism”, and others are “politics as a vocation” and “The Science as a vocation”. Those books allowed understand many organizations problems and the processes of rationalization and modern economic.
He likes me because was a pioneer in the analysis of bureaucracy and for many actually modern ideas of the best public administration. Their theory’s allowed to make the organization more effective and efficient. Also, because he is very renowned in the actually university chairs of different study areas of social science.  

Tv Shows and series

Hi! Today I go to talk about mi experience with the TV shows and the series. To be honest, I have never been a fan of television and therefore I have not seen many series or TV shows in my life, this is because I prefer spend time in other things.

However, of the few series that I have seen, one of my favorite is “Friends”.  This series I really liked by the humor that has and for the personality of the actors, although I never seen it without stopping, I seen many episodes in the cable TV in the last years.



The types of series that I enjoy the most are the comedy. I think I like comedy because they graciously represent the current cultures and because it combines humor with serious issues.

One of the series that I would like to see is House of Cards. I have been recommended a lot both friends and teachers. I hope I can start seeing you in the summer.

my favorite photo

Hi! Today i going to talk about one of my favorite pictures.

In this picture is my dog, whose name was Oso.

 He was rescued of the Street by my grandfather 12 years ago. He had been abandoned in a cold and rainy day when he was a puppy and for reason he came a home very sick.
 
He spent his whole life playing and sharing beautiful moments with us (He accompanied me during all my infancy). He was noted for being very affectionate,  friendly with other animals and to greet the visitors very happy

I took that picture 1 year ago when he was healthy and happy and is very important for me because Is one of the last photos before he died a few months ago for degenerative diseases. I like to remember it with this image.

My Favorite Music

HI! Today i going to talk about my favorite music.

The musical styles that likes me are very differents.

My favorite band is "Of monster and Men". This band of Indie Folk music have 5 members (Nanna Bryndís, Ragnar Þórhallsson, Brynjar Leifsson, Arnar Rósenkranz and Kristján Páll Kristjánsson).

Their more famous songs are “Little Talks” (My favorite song and with  international success), “Love Love Love”, My head is an animal (their first debut) and “Mountain Sound”.

My main reason why I like this musical group is for the lyrics of songs (are very interesting)

My other favorite musician is Yann Tiersen. This is a French musician and composer. He is a grand pianist, guitarist and violinist with many musical studies.

I like almost all his songs. My favourites songs are “La valse d'Amelie”, “Comptine d'un Autre Été”, “Rue des Cascades and “La Dispute”

He is famous for composed the music of the movie “Amelie”, where he won numerous awards.

I have others favorite musician but that is topic for another blog.

My Favourite Piece of Technology

In this post I'll write about my favorite piece of technology. This piece is my notebook computer. In my life I have had 3 computers; The first was a desktop computer and the other two notebooks. I use the computer all day, for chatting, investigation, write in the university's classes, read books and newspapers, and sometimes, watching movies.

I like so much because it is very useful for many things. Also I think that is wonderful to record notes for ever. Their size and weight makes it ideal for transport in a backpack bag especially in the public transporting of Santiago.
Without my notebook computer my life would be very hard, with many books and papers in my backpack. It would take me more time to write and research topics of my career.

When i chose my career

When I was a child, my dream was to work as teacher of school. But when I was to the high school, I changed of career, in that moment I wanted study Laws or economics.
In the moment of applying to university, I was indecisive, because I wanted to study many careers. I finally I decide study public administration in the University of Chile because it was the career that I liked the most.

My experience in the university has been very good. I think it was an excellent decision and I feel very happy studying this career.

After studying I would like to work in the "Contraloría general de la república", study a PHD,  or taking classes in this university

My Autobiography

Hi everybody! I want introduce you about my life.
I was Born in November of 1996 (Currently I have 20 years) in Santiago of Chile. I have lived all my life in this place and I can accept that I like a lot Santiago.
I studied my elementary and my high school at Falcon College. I entered the university in the year 2016 to Public Administration.
I have lived with my parents and my sister all my life. We are very close family.
 I like all the animals, I think these deserve respect. I have two doggies and two cats.
Finally whenever I have some free time, I enjoy practicing  sports, reading books and learning others areas.

That was a little things of my life :)

My Career

Why did you choose to study this career? Are you happy with your choice? why?

I chose to study Public Administration because my teacher told to me about this career. He told to me the options for work as public servicer and the importance for our country of to have people with knowledge in public policies. Also I like so much the courses of maths and polity theory.

- If you had you study another career what would it be?
I would have studied Economy in this university or Teacher of maths . 

- Mention one thing that you like and one you dislike about the faculty.
One thing that like to me is university environment and one thing that dislike is the infrastructure of the building. 

- Include anything else you consider important.

Finally I think that the University of Chile was the best option for study this career.
